They run slightly small. If you're between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size. We stock EU sizes 37 to 41 (Lago comes in 37 to 40).

It depends on the style. Frances and Lucrecia are cotton velvet, Lago and Claire are 100% linen, Pierre in Leopard Green is textured linen, Pierre in Leopard Garnet is a leopard print synthetic fur, and Isabella is mesh with a patent leather strap. Most styles have a 100% organic cotton lining with an antibacterial finish, and every pair sits on a rubber sole made from recycled bicycle tyres.

Flabelus is a Spanish brand, and its shoes are handmade in Spain using traditional espadrille-making techniques.

That's the whole point. They're flat, the rubber soles are flexible and grippy, and the linings are soft organic cotton. Expect them to soften and mould to your foot after a few wears.

Isabella and Pierre have a V-cut vamp that lengthens the line of the foot. Frances and Lago are the classic rounded Mary Jane with a single buckle strap. Claire has a double strap for a little more hold. If you love colour, start with Isabella in Red. If you want one pair that goes with everything, Isabella in Nude or Claire in Sand.

Our favourite ways: cropped wide-leg jeans and a crisp white shirt, a slip skirt and a fine knit, or black tailoring with a pop of red or leopard at the feet. In cooler months, try the velvet styles with sheer black tights.

Spot clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and let them air dry away from direct heat. Store them in their dust bag to keep their shape. Avoid putting them in the washing machine.

A ballet flat is a low-cut slip-on with no strap, shaped like a dancer’s slipper. A Mary Jane has a strap across the instep and can be flat or heeled. A Mary Jane flat is basically a ballet flat with a strap, so you get the same easy, low-cut look with a bit more hold.
